Chop it . Freeze it. Done!

Make meal time preparation even faster by pre-cutting your onions. Put them in a bag and pop them in the freezer. I'm not a fan of crying over the onions everyday of the week. This little trick saves me time and tears. I'll dice up a bag of onions and that will usually last me a little over three weeks. An added benefit that Ive noticed is that they caramelize even faster!
Sometimes cooking for two can be tedious! Throwing out rotten celery week after week was really bothering me. So one day I chopped up the leftover celery and stuck it in the freezer. To my surprise, it actually turned out great! Now with the frozen onions and celery, soup's are a breeze.
Red bell peppers are expensive but we really enjoy roasting them, putting them in stirfrys and adding them to our favorit dishes, so by perchesing them on sale, cutting and freezing in simple twist tie baggies, we get to enjoy them more often.
Please comment to us about your freezing ideas!

  1. I froze a watermelon once in the late summer, intending to thaw it for a winter Hawaiian themed Christmas Party.
    NOT A GOOD IDEA!
